This year, we played 3 tournaments complimented with the Ukrainian World Golf Challenge 5 hosted by the UGAC during 25 July through 2 August in Vancouver.

 

Season Opening Tournament
Originally scheduled for Saturday, 31 May - rain date played Saturday, 12 July

Grand Niagara Golf Club , Niagara Falls, Ontario
Located at 8547 Grassy Brook Road, Port Robinson (Niagara Falls), west of QEW Hywy, Exit 21 – Lyons Creek Road.

Golf is the centerpiece of the resort with the planned second course by Greg Norman coming in 2010. Rees Jones, famous for toughening up seven U. S .Open venues, six PGA Championship venues, and three Ryder Cup sites says Grand Niagara could host a major championship. The roll of the fairways echo the ambience of the world’s classic courses. It’s one of the finest new courses in Canada.

Season's Second Tournament
Saturday, 21 July

Piper's Heath Golf Club, Milton, Ontario
Located at 5501 Trafalgar Road, just north of Hwy 407 in Hornby (Milton).

This is a stunning championship course designed by renowned golf course architect Graham Cooke. Opened in 2007, is unique from other new courses possessing an Old World charm which connects with the ebb and flow rumpled landscape. True to a links course, square tee boxes, innovative linear bunker lines, wide, generous golf corridors and elegant plateaued greens are found throughout. Three watercourses thread their way into play adding drama and allure.

Men: Higher handicap players: WHITE tees, 6088 yards, 122 slope,
Men: Low handicap players: BLUE tees, 6621 yards, 127 slope.

Season Finale Championship Tournament
Saturday, 13 September

Lionhead Golf Course, Legends Course, Brampton, Ontario
Located at 8525 Mississauga Road, on the east side just north of Steeles Avenue in Brampton.

Lionhead is the flagship of the Kaneff Group. In May 2000 Golf Digest ranked the legends Course as the 3rd toughest in North America. Nestled in the beautiful Credit River Valley it offers a challenge to all golfing abilities. You will find shimmering lakes, deep Ohio sand bunkers, inviting bent grass fairways, and impeccable bent grass greens. Every ho;e on the course is designed to give a golfer the “WOW” effect.

Men: WHITE tees, 5473 yards, 136 slope.

Closest to the Hole Winners
This year each winner of the Closest to the Hole will receive a complimentary weekend-long test drive of a BMW Z3, courtesy of Downtown BMW in Toronto . There was no winner from Grand Niagara ; the course did not place the marker on the hole for the competition, so the prize was carried over to Lionhead.

Champion Golfers for 2008
Champions in each of Net and Gross Stableford categories are determined by the high total of scores from a minimum of 2 tournaments. Two scores are necessary to qualify for the individual championship of which one score must be posted at the Season Finale tournament. A player may compete in any or all events, as desired, with the best score from the first 3 season events being totaled with that of the Season Finale score.

2008 Champion Gross Stableford category,
